Fall 2007
The fall design featured natural colors and wildlife portraits from our trips to Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, and Alaska.
Summer 2006
The spring design reverted to the floral theme from December 2003. We also started using Twitter to post the everday minutia not usually blog-worthy.
January 2006
The January design was inspired by our "once in a lifetime" trip to Africa. But who are we kidding - after a trip like this, we're completely hooked and were already planning our next adventure on the flight home.
August 2005
The August design was inspired by a late summer invasion of very patient and camera-friendly monarch butterflies. In August we enhanced the photography section of the site, plotting our visited destinations on a zoomable Google map, and linking the destinations to our photo pages. Geeky, but cool for sure :)
January 2005
The January design was inspired by our once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galapagos. The home page featured a collage comprised of images from the trip. The colors were taken straight from the images - the blue from a blue-footed boobie and the yellow from the feathers on a yellow warbler.
December 2004

Yes - I went TWELVE months without updating the design. Worse than that, I basically recycled a holiday design from 2001!

December 2003

The December design is about as far from "traditional holiday festive" as one can get - but then again, it is perfect for OUR traditions.

Because of our Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations to warm Caribbean locations, the December design features tropical flowers and will be used for both trips.

July 2003

The July design was inspired by our trip to Greece and Barcelona.

In June, I also added a phonepics page, where I post pictures taken with our Nokia 3650 phone. We posted a ton while in Greece and Barcelona and it was a fun way to let everyone tag along on our trip :)

April 2003
The April design was inspired by spring. Well, not spring in Chicago, but spring flowers somewhere. In April I also added a new page to the site - a photoblog where I post pictures for photofriday. I added a comments section, where people who view the page can comment on my work.
January 2003
As our Christmas card mentioned, a cast on my arm was NOT going to change our travel plans. The January design featured images and colors from our bareboat adventure in the British Virgin Islands.
December 2002
The end of 2002 was not the best time for us. Andy wound up in the hospital in October for espohageal spasms (NOT a heart attack) and I was hit by a car while walking to work. The December Home Page featured an xray of my broken arm in festive holiday colors :)
October 2002
The fall was very busy (with a trip to Egypt for work and many papers due for school) so we did not have time for fall foliage pictures. I recycled some images from last fall for the design and updated the portfolio section of the website.
August 2002
The August Home Page featured an image from our trip to Nantucket.
June 2002
The June design used the colors and images from our trip to Paris and Ireland. Between the two of us, we shot over 1000 images (not all "keepers" of couse) and this was the first time we could not select a single image for the home page - and the "new image on refresh on the home page" (shown to right) was born.
May 2002
The May design used the colors and images from our trip to Egypt. Since this was the first trip with the Nikon Coolpix 5000, this was the first time we ran into the problem of "entirely too many pictures to show" - and the "highlight" page (shown to right) was born.
February 2002
The February design used the same color scheme as the January design but incorporated images from our trip to the Bahamas. This was the first time we added video to the site - showing swimming manta rays and floating jellyfish.
January 2002
The January design was inspired by the colors of the Southern Caribbean. The images in the banner are some of my favorites from the cruise pictures.
December 2001
The December design was meant to have snowflakes, ornaments, and Christmas trees. Unfortunately, I never got around to taking the pictures, so as a last resort I actually drew these masterpieces :)
October 2001
The October design was inspired by colors from the fall foliage pictures. The images in the banner are from our trip to Galena, Illinois.
September 2001
The original banner design featured some of my favorite pictures from Rome, Florence, and Milan.
